Patrick LundyA native of Thomasville, Georgia, Patrick Lundy was initiated into music ministry by playing the piano at the First Missionary Baptist Church before his feet could touch the pedals. In 1985, Patrick relocated to Washington, D.C., and matriculated at Howard University, earning a degree in Music Business with a concentration in Management and Voice. While at Howard University, Patrick assisted the renowned Dr. J. Weldon Norris with the Howard University Choir and served as Assistant Director of the Howard Gospel Choir under the direction of the unparalleled Arphelius Paul Gatling, III. In addition, Patrick has served at several churches in the Washington Metropolitan Area, including serving as Minister of Music at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Fort Washington, Maryland. Patrick is the former Music Director of the internationally acclaimed Eastern High School Choir founded by Dr. Joyce Garrett. Currently, Patrick is serving as Director of Fine Arts at Reid Temple A.M.E. Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland where Rev. Dr. Lee P. Washington is Senior Pastor. In July 1996, Patrick was privileged to visit the Holy Land as art of the Jerusalem 3000 Celebration sponsored by the Christian Music Association.

In May 1994, Patrick’s God-inspired vision to bring together a group of serious, anointed musicians who have the common goal to praise and glorify God as well as minister to God’s people, became reality when he founded the Ministers of Music. Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music (PL & MOM) have been exceptionally well-received and have appeared with a host of national artists including Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kirk Franklin, Jennifer Holliday, Donald Lawrence, Dorothy Norwood, Edwin Hawkins, Walter Hawkins and Tramaine Hawkins. The choir has also made numerous appearances on BET’s “Bobby Jones Gospel” and TV One’s “Gospel of Music.”  The Choir has released their 6th CD, “Determined” featuring Tramaine Hawkins, which was recorded live in celebration of their 15th Anniversary!

Patrick is an anointed and highly sought-after accompanist, director, composer, arranger and clinician. Several of his compositions have been recorded by artists such as Rev. Milton Biggham and The Georgia Mass Choir, who performed “It’s All Over,” Minister Donald Malloy, who recorded, “You Carried Me,” Dottie Peoples, whose release “Churchin’ With Dottie” includes “Enter His Gates,” and Bishop Paul S. Morton & The FGBCF Mass Choir’s “Let It Rain” which includes “(Won’t He Make A Way) Somehow.” Patrick’s incomparable arrangement of “Let There Be Peace on Earth” was sung by thousands from all over the world at the Bahá’í Global Music Festival in June 2002 at the landmark Manhattan Center in New York City. Two of Patrick’s compositions are included in Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound official song list for their annual church choir competition.

Patrick is married to Joyce N. Lundy, an accomplished classical vocalist performing with the Washington National Opera and vocal instructor at the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC.
