The Reid Temple Men’s Ministry was established to lift the men of our church—Mind, Body, and Spirit—to their rightful spiritual position through Biblical preaching, teaching, and fellowship. Its mission is to empower our men to become better husbands, fathers, partners, family members, disciples, stewards, and leaders. Through it, the Men of Reid on the Glenn Dale campus come together as the Fresh Oil Fridays Bible Study Group for weekly Scripture study and prayer. The men also meet routinely for other forms of spiritual sharing and life-skills support. The men organize and coordinate their participation in the activities of other ministries of the church and in the community as well as plan men’s workshops, seminars, conferences, Spiritual Advances, the annual Men’s Day worship service, and other recreational and fellowship gatherings.
Men’s Ministry meetings and activities offer safe places where the men of our church can express themselves openly and freely about areas of weakness, pain, and struggle. They also provide a sort of “spiritual classroom” where men can learn how to nurture a stronger relationship with God, and how to manifest the Five E’s of the Pastor’s vision in their daily lives.
