Any member of Reid Temple—men and women, juniors and adults—can join the Usher Board and become an active part of its ministry. In no other ministry will you have the opportunity to affect the lives of so many of your fellow worshippers. Our dedicated teams of specially uniformed Ushers maintain order and discipline at our church’s regular worship and specialty services. The members of the Usher Board play an invaluable role by ensuring the safe and timely flow of all members and visitors throughout the sanctuary and overflow areas. They help to welcome and seat the congregation during services; monitor cell phone and camera use; facilitate the offering process; provide pleasant and timely guidance regarding the location of church facilities such as restrooms, the nursery, bookstore, or information desk; and distribute materials at the end of services. Members of the Usher Board are required to join and pay dues to the International Church Usher Association (ICUA). They must also undergo a six-month ICUA training course prior to service.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE/VOLUNTEER
This ministry meets every 3rd Saturday from 9:30am to 11:00am on the Reid Temple-North Campus.
