About Church Life

The Bible says that believers should “let their lights shine so that others may see their good works and glorify Our Father in Heaven” (Matthew 5:16). At Reid Temple, we believe that ALL can minister. The term “minister” applies to all who serve; it is not limited to those who are professionally trained or ordained. If you are seeking an outlet for your divinely assigned skills and talents, we encourage you to explore the many ministries that our church has to offer. If you are called to share your unique personality and qualities, come devote your God-given talents to the body of Christ at Reid Temple.

At Reid Temple, we believe that all things are possible through Christ, and we have Faith that God will guide our paths in all our ministry activities. We also believe that no ministry program is complete unless it also includes an assessment component. That is why our Church Life ministries in particular are tasked not only to carry out a wide variety of programs, services, and activities—they are also held accountable for evaluating the effectiveness of their efforts, changing the course of action or prayer when necessary, and making improvements as needed.

We take seriously our members’ and visitors’ comments and suggestions about church programs and activities, especially those that relate to how well Reid Temple serves YOU. We want to keep you as part of Our Christian Family. We appreciate and thank God for the continued service of all our Church Life ministry members and leaders—and we welcome you to join one or more as your time and talents allow. Please Note: All persons wishing to volunteer in any Reid Temple A.M.E. Church ministry serving children and youth must first undergo and pass a state/federal criminal background check.
