Xavier Jones, Tenor Section Leader
Xavier has been active in ministry and music for most of his life. A native of Albany Georgia, Xavier received the Lord Jesus Christ in 1999 at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, Albany, Ga. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music/Voice from Albany State University. During his tenure at ASU he has served as President/Student Director of the ASU Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers, Captain of the Honda Quiz Bowl Team, Upward Bound Counselor, Vice-President of the Student Government Association and a Spring 2009 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Xavier later received a Master of Music Degree with an emphasis in Music Education from Norfolk State University. During his tenure at NSU, he received the Virginia Graduate Fellowship, was appointed to the President’s Executive Council by NSU President Eddie Moore, served as a graduate assistant, and was a recurring baritone soloist with the NSU Concert Choir and Chesapeake Civic Chorus.
Xavier is currently employed by the Prince George’s County Public Schools where he is a music educator. He has been a member of Reid Temple AME Church since 2015. Xavier’s favorite bible verse is Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
