June 30th: Undergirded - Whether David was right or whether David was wrong, God still said that’s a man after my heart. God stands with us. God stands beside us.

Assignment: Read Psalm 1 and Matthew 28:20b. Write the Matthew verse on a card and keep it with you. Today, prayerfully seek an opportunity to confidently reassure someone else with these same words.

June 29th: Undefeated - When David was at his best, nobody could beat him and when David was at his worst, nobody could beat him. That’s a snapshot of our lives, because sometimes we’re good and sometimes we’re at our worst. Neither situation has ever caused God to distance Himself or abandon us

Assignment: Read Psalm 91:1-3 and Psalm 118:4-9; then write a declaration to reassure yourself that you are never alone because the God who is enabling you to face your giant is your ever present Help and Deliverer who will not abandon you.

June 28th: Undeterred - You don’t have any problems that are different than anybody else. You just may have more or less. But you’ve got to rush them. Check your mind out and see what’s in your head. Are they God thoughts or giant thoughts? You’ve got to see God greater than you see your giant.

Assignment: Read Jeremiah 29:11 and 33:3 and list what you still think is impossible and yet you continue to believe in your heart that God will move it to the realm of reality. Write a line or two thanking the Holy Spirit for keeping your mind and focus on God’s plan for you.

June 27th: Participation - God told the Israelites, now, you go after them. The tables have turned; you go after them and you defeat them because now they acknowledge the God who is sovereign.

Assignment: Be a witness! Who do you need to put on the run for the Lord? Ask the Spirit to direct you to at least one person who needs to know today that God is a giant slayer, so that they might believe and run under the awesome power of the God you serve.

June 26th: Agitation - When Goliath’s gang saw that their champion was dead, the Bible tells us that they started running.

Assignment: Make a list of the people you once considered your friends, who have now gone by the wayside since you started your walk with Christ. Today, take time to give God audible praise for moving in your life; then pray for those who don’t understand the power and purpose God has for all of us, that they may come to know that God cares.

June 25th: Termination - When you have giant thoughts, you will stumble. But when you have God thoughts, your giant will tumble. As David runs towards Goliath, I can hear him saying the bigger they come, the harder they fall. As soon as Goliath falls David runs over, because the worst thing you can do is wound a giant. If you’re going to take him out, take him out. Don’t play with him because he’ll regroup. Don’t leave him wounded, because he’s got cousins and if you do not finish him, somewhere down the line what, they’re coming to finish you.

Assignment: Read Jeremiah 29:11; then visit and revise your list from Day 7 and then make sure that you have terminated the conversations and relationships that are not promoting the plan that God has for your life.

June 24th: Memorialize Your Giant - The day of your giant is over, because God has guaranteed the victory on this one. He said the battle belongs to Him, which means He’s going to get the victory for His name on this one.

Assignment: Write an epitaph for your giant, who is already defeated, that gives praise to the God of your deliverance. Fill in the blanks with whatever is on your heart: “Here rests _________ who once thought that I would ____________, until the Lord God strong and mighty __________.

June 23rd: Anticipation - You can do it when you understand who guarantees the victory. David said the Lord has guaranteed the victory. “Goliath, I know you’re bad. I know you’re big, but the Lord has guaranteed victory. You’re going to fall. This is your last day. I’m going to have to face you. It’ll be over for you in a matter of moments. You will no longer exist. You will expire on this day. Your time of intimidating, threatening and causing havoc in the lives of the people of God is over, because God has guaranteed victory over this. There will be no more sleepless nights, no more knocking of the knees and nervousness. There’s going to be no more interruption of peace. There’s going to be no more separation.”

Are you expecting a change or still passively waiting for things to change?

Assignment: Don’t wait until the battle is over, you can shout now-- Give God a 30 second audible praise three times today.

June 22nd: Illumination - I want you to get ready to face it. I want you to get ready to face the person. I want you to get ready to face your issue. I want you to get ready to face your giant. I want you to do it.

Assignment: Read and memorize Zechariah 4:6. Then write a prayer of confession and ask for guidance to allow the Lord to lead you through your struggle, rather than trying to figure it out on your own. Then thank God for answering your prayer.

June 21st: Fortification - In four verses, David mentions the Lord nine times! That means if you’re going to defeat your giant, you’ve got to be four times as focused on God as you are on your problem. Every time you talk about your problem, you ought to talk four times as much about God. Every time you talk about your issues, you ought to talk about four times that God has blessed you. Every time you talk about what’s coming against you, you ought to talk four times about how God made a way. Every time it looks like you’re not going to make it, you ought to talk about four times that God has delivered you.

Assignment: Write down Proverbs 18:10 and continue to remind yourself that you are safe and delivered from your giant. Determine to openly declare to four people today, that you are safe.

June 20th: Magnification - You can always tell people with giant thoughts because it weighs them down. They’re burdened. And that’s what Saul was going to do to David. Saul suggested, “Use my armor.” But David said, “I haven’t proved it. It’s too heavy for me. Man, when I fight, I’ve got to be light. I’ve got to be agile. I’ve got to be able to move quickly. If I put this stuff on, this stuff is going to weigh me down. I don’t need armor. What I need is a mind that has the thoughts of God in it.”

Assignment: Read John 16:29-31, 33. Write down the promise of God that the Spirit continually speaks to you concerning you overcoming your giant and write a statement to your giant declaring that God IS greater than your giant who is already defeated. Write down the name of the person with whom you will share the good news of the coming victory and later the victory report when it is evident.

June 19th: Exhortation - Praise is my weapon. Rush your giant saying no weapon formed against me is going to prosper. Rush it saying I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. Rush it saying I’m more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ.

Assignment: Read 1 Samuel 30:6 and Romans 8:37, then write two lines -- one of praise to God and one of encouragement to yourself. Put a copy of it on your mirror and carry a copy with you at all times, to reflect on when you begin thinking that you can’t make it.

June 18th: Exaltation - Rush your giant with the Word of God for nothing can defeat the Word of God!

Assignment: Read Psalm 34:1 and write it down. Determine to openly bless the Lord of your victory by repeating this verse at least four times today -- to one person by Noon, one person by 4 PM, one person by 8 PM and then back to God in prayer before retiring for the night.

June 17th: Dedication - Rush your giant with sanctification!

Assignment: Read 1 Peter 1:13-16. Now write a prayer of confession and a statement forgiving yourself for what God has already forgiven you. Now write your statement of intent to move forward in the power of His Spirit, to fulfill your divine assignment.

June 16th: Concentration - Rush your giant with prayer!

Assignment: Read Isaiah 26:3 and today determine to maintain your focus on the source of your peace. Pray a prayer of thanksgiving three times today, thanking the God of your peace, for He is Jehovah Shalom.

June 15th: Illumination - Make sure you rush your giant with praise!

Assignment: Read Psalm 81:1 and give it a tune for you to hum for the rest of the day, so that you may begin to see yourself as God sees you and praise the Lord who is your deliverer and your strength. As you go, ask the Lord to direct you to one person to encourage by sharing your testimony of a situation that the Lord brought you through in an unimaginable way.

June 14th: Capitulation - You don’t rush your giant in your might.

Assignment: Read and memorize Zechariah 4:6. Then write a prayer of confession and ask for guidance to allow the Lord to lead you through your struggle, rather than trying to figure it out on your own. Then thank God for answering your prayer.

June 13th: Look ahead - Stop running to your friends. They can’t help you. Instead run towards your giant in the confidence that God has already given you the victory over it. Rush it, blitz it and keep in mind that David wasn’t running empty handed. When you go towards your problem, make sure you’ve got your weapon with you. Make sure when you rush it that you don’t rush it in your own strength.

Assignment: Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 and write down what it is that you are fighting against, that is keeping you from facing your giant. Then read verse 6 aloud and rewrite it in your own words, making that your declaration for the next three days.

June 12th: Look again - David said, “The valor is not contingent upon me.” It’s not about me. It’s not about you. It’s all about God. When God calls you to defeat something, it’s got to come down!

Assignment: Remain prayerful about your intention to face your giant. Pay close attention to the scriptures you are led to read after/while reading the assigned scriptures this week and next week. Keep a record and return to all of the scriptures for the next three weeks. Make note of what the Spirit leads you to read and note what is being said to give you confidence.

June 11th: Look out - When is the last time you rushed towards that which was fighting against you? David knew he wasn’t running by himself, because David rushed towards him with the assurance that my God is going to bring me through it.

Are you surrounded by supportive people who share the journey with you?

Assignment: Think about the last time you turned away from what you knew God was calling you to do. Now write a prayer asking for forgiveness for quitting and then thank God for another opportunity to go at it again. Commit to memory Philippians 4:13 today. Repeat that scripture to at least one person today and one more tomorrow.

June 10th: Look within - When David saw the giant David did what I would never do. The Bible says David ran towards the giant! Now most of us retreat! Most of us would have been hiding. Most of us would put it in reverse. But the Bible says he ran towards the giant! You’ve got to rush your giant.

Assignment:: Close your eyes and envision your giant as having a physical form and size (weight/depth/height). Now let the Holy Spirit show you getting the momentum to run towards your giant --- then envision yourself rushing your giant – go! Next, write down 1 Corinthians 15:58 and begin to memorize it for the times you want to retreat from the battle.

June 9th: Look beyond - Whenever God gives you a vision or challenges you to do something greater than yourself, you can always measure the people without faith because they will say to you, “I don’t see how you’re going to do it.” If you listen to them, you’ll never be blessed with the miracle that God has for you. If you could see how you could do it, it’s not faith! Faith is the substance of things hoped for but is the evidence of things unseen. I can’t see it, but it already exists in the spirit world. It’s just a matter of it manifesting itself in the physical world. -

Assignment: List 5 scriptures that speak about faith. Now write out the one scripture that speaks to your heart. Read that passage twice a day, until you know it by heart. Speak it to yourself whenever you begin to feel discouraged on the journey.

June 8th: Look up - David says today is the day of the Lord. David says those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves, but the battle is the Lord’s.

Assignment: Write a statement of declaration that you will pursue what the Spirit is directing you to do and close the declaration with a scripture that supports and encourages you in taking on this assignment with all your heart. Try Psalm 121.

June 7th: Look around - You’ll never face a giant without talking about the God that’s bigger than your giant. Now, check your friends. If your friends are always talking about your problems, get away from them, because they will infect and influence you!

Assignment: Write down the name(s) of the persons with whom you feel free to discuss your giant. Draw a line through the names of the persons who do not encourage you to move forward, but rather agree with you that the giant is too big. Do not discuss the assignment with those persons. If you must talk to these persons, be a witness instead and talk about how God has come through for you in the past.

June 6th: Check your partners - David does not discuss the giant. Israel discusses the giant. Saul discusses the giant, but not David. David discusses God! The more you talk about your problem, the more you magnify your problem. But if you talk about the God that’s able to supply all your needs and the God who promises to be with you through every circumstance, it minimizes your problem. Your God is bigger than your giant. And your God is bigger than your problems.

Assignment: Seek out two people who are working in the same ministry area as you and arrange a regular time to talk and enjoy walking in the same direction while growing spiritually.

June 5th: Check your words - We’re good when it comes to talking about what needs to be done, but when it comes to the action and participation required we are restricted and limited. It’s trying to wrestle with the fear that you have to move forward to accomplish whatever it is that appears to be bigger than you. So the question I put to you is: how do you face a giant? How do you face what’s bigger than you?

Assignment: Write down the thing you fear most that is restricting you or limiting you from giving your all to face your giant and accomplish your assignment. Then write a prayer thanking God for the grace and strength to move forward, by faith, in spite of your fear. Say this prayer everyday for the next seven days or until you begin to believe and receive the strength and courage of your faith.

June 4th: Check your heart - This is Goliath, the giant. Everything that is against you is wrapped up in this giant called Goliath. In a logical sense, the odds are in favor of Goliath and, yet, David determines within himself he’s going to face him.

Assignment: This week, tell three people about the ministry work you are engaged in and testify about how and why you know that the Holy Spirit is enabling you in this work that you cannot/would not otherwise do on your own.

June 3rd: Check your mind - Sometimes we confuse our assignment because we are so busy introducing ourselves to others instead of focusing on the glory of God. Ministry is not about self. It’s about the spirit to serve God to bring His name glory.

Are you confused about what is your assignment in the work of Kingdom building? Have you been viewing the work as successful because of your skills; did you pat yourself on the back for making the “right connections” or for being so resourceful?

Assignment: Reflect on the various ways you interact with others. In what area(s) has confusion about your ministry assignment caused you to neglect to give God glory for providing opportunities to use your God-given talent and abilities to help others?

June 2nd: Check your mirror - David sees a reflection of himself in the water. But David is reminded he’s not there to observe his reflection.

When you look in the mirror, do you see yourself as the handiwork of God or as a self-made person?

Assignment: Name at least one thing that you know to be true of you according to God’s word, in spite of who you see in the mirror. Speak it aloud to yourself. Now speak a loud praise to God for creating you with this wonderful characteristic.

June 1st: Check your bag - David looks into the clear creek, plunges his hands in the cool water and extracts rocks. He is particular because there are certain kinds of rocks that he uses to defeat his foe. They must be a certain size and shape so that they can fit easily in the pouch of his sling.

When it comes to facing your spiritual foes, how particular and prayerful have you been about what’s in your arsenal?

Assignment: Write down the first thing you did today, when you thought of your most pressing situation – your giant. Now, use a Bible concordance to list five scriptures that address the same or a similar topic with a promise from God.
